Healing With The Moon Pt. 1 Aries-Virgo

In 2020 I attended a Lunar Healing online lecture given by New York based astrologer Mecca Woods. I continue to come back to this information and wisdom and I feel compelled to share it. So, today, let's explore the magic of the Moon and how we can correlate both its transit through the signs and natal sign to proper self care and healing.

When the Moon is currently in Aries: Aries is a cardinal fire sign so the best way to nourish ourselves is with dynamic action. Wherever Aries is and whatever planets are contained in Aries in your chart will get a sensitive and emotional boost. Aries rules over the head and so headaches may be common at this time. Drinking plenty of water, moving your body with love, initiating something that you have been planning, and avoiding rash and impulsive behavior are all ways to honor the moons transit through this sign.

When your natal Moon is in Aries: When you live with Aries Lunar energy you often need to engage with opposite practices when healing! A natal Aries moon deserves to slow down and cool down every once in a while. This includes slowing down and stopping to eat and fully hydrating. Take the time to take a break and be selective with your energy. Set aside time for sleep and time to be fully present and indulge the senses.

Aromatherapy: Mint, Eucalyptus

When the Moon is currently in Taurus: Taurus is a fixed earth sign so the best way to nourish ourselves is through slow and steady effort. Wherever Taurus is and whatever planets are contained there will get a sensitive and emotional boost. Taurus rules over the neck and so sore throats may be common around this time. Physical care is emphasized during this transit so things like singing, neck/upperback stretches, and allowing yourself to feel any of the physical manifestations of your emotions are all ways to honor the moons transit through this sign.

When your natal Moon is in Taurus: The Moon enjoys being in the sign of Taurus, but often times feels stagnant in comfortable patterns. Often times the best practices to engage in while healing a Taurus Moon are energetically active ones. Practices like physical movement/exercise, eating spicy foods, and trying something new/outside the comfort zone are all a great place to start.

Aromatherapy: Clove, Cinnamon

When the Moon is currently in Gemini: Gemini is a mutable air sign so the best way to nourish ourselves is with mental stimulation. Wherever Gemini is and whatever planets are contained there will get a sensitive and emotional boost around this time. Gemini rules the shoulders down to the fingertips so soreness in those areas is common during this transit. Things like reading/studying, good conversations with others, stretching/tending to our arms and hands, and meditation/calming the mind are all ways to honor the Moons transit through this sign.

When your natal Moon is in Gemini: Living with Lunar Gemini energy can often feel like constant overstimulation. This is why the best healing practices for a Gemini Moon to engage with are ones that take pressure off the mind and engage with the body. Practices like taking a social media break, setting aside electronics before bed, allowing yourself to feel your feelings, and creating a routine that feels grounding to you are ways to honor your healing process.

Aromatherapy: Patchouli, Sandalwood

When the Moon is currently in Cancer: Cancer is a cardinal water sign so the best way to nourish ourselves is with compassion and care. Wherever Cancer is and whatever planets re contained there in your chart will get a sensitive and emotional boost around this time. Cancer rules the stomach and digestive system so stomach aches, digestive issues, and sensitivity to day to day routine may be common during this transit. Things like eating a proper meal, drinking enough water, honoring your feelings and emotions, taking a bath, and caring for yourself are all ways to honor Moons transit through this sign.

When your natal Moon is in Cancer: Much like the sign of Taurus, the Moon feels at home in the sign of Cancer. However, the Moon can also be over-indulgent and unable to let go when too comfortable. The best healing practices for Cancer Moons include saying NO, travelling, writing out your feelings, coming up with solutions, and engaging in behaviors that allow you to feel productive.

Aromatherapy: Bergamont, Pine

When the Moon is currently in Leo: Leo is a fixed fire sign so the best way to nourish ourselves is with regal displays of self love. Wherever Leo is and whatever planets are contained there in your chart will get a sensitive and emotional boost around this time. Leo rules the heart and back so back and chest pains are common around this time. Things like investing in a massage/facial, treating yourself to something luxurious, appreciating yourself, and honing in on your inner lion/lioness are all ways to honor the Moons transit through this sign.

When your natal Moon is in Leo: Much like the other signs we've explored, Lunar Leo energy is healed through practices which oppose its nature. Practices like a long bath, saving energy for yourself, spending time in solitude, and practicing self affirmations are all ways to honor your healing.

Aromatherapy: Chamomile, Lavender

When the Moon is currently in Virgo: Virgo is a mutable earth sign so the best way to nourish ourselves is with practical care and accepting help. Wherever Virgo is and whatever planets are contained there in your chart will get a sensitive and emotional boost around this time. Virgo rules the digestive system and spleen so we often encounter food sensitivities or general digestive sensitivities at this time. Things like organizing in a way that makes sense to you, accepting help if you need, honoring your own needs, journaling, and achieving that satisfying feeling of checking something off of your to-do list.

When your natal Moon is in Virgo: Lunar Virgo energy often manifests in digestive issues and the capacity to over-work the self. Healing a Virgo moon involves practices like saying NO, learning to surrender, asking for help, making time for play/joy, and engaging with a creative outlet.

Aromatherapy: Tangerine, Grapefruit
